  6. Define and Map Processes to be improved (SIPOC (supplier, input, process, output, customer) / COPIS (customer, output, process, input, supplier)), Activity Flow Chart)
  7. Identification of critical to customer / critical to business characteristics (concept of tree diagram)
  8. Type of Data, Sample Size determination for a given confidence level and Data Collection Planning including use of Prioritisation Matrix and/or FMEA
  9. Introduction to various statistical software packages for data display and analysis like, MINITAB..
  10. Measurement System Evaluation (Gauge R&R) for variables as well as attribute data
  11. Understanding variation-special causes vs. common causes (like dot plots, box plots, histogram and control charts)
  12. Stratification methods (like Pareto, Bar Diagrams, stratified dot plot, etc)
  13. Evaluation of Process Capability and assessment of Sigma level
  14. Process Mapping including, identification of value added and non value added activities (use of lean concept)
  15. Organizing for potential causes using cause and effect diagram, FMEA & Tree Diagram
  16. Verification/validation of causes using work place investigation (GEMBA)
  17. Concept of correlation and Regression and use of the same in validating causes
  18. Concept of Test of Hypothesis like 2 Sample t, Chi Square, ANOVA etc and use of the same in validating the causes
  19. Concept of Industrial experimentation
  20. Select and prioritize solutions for validated causes including concept of Risk Analysis.
  21. Develop plan for pilot and full scale implementation
  22. Concept and Examples of Poke Yoke, Visual Workplace and 5S
  23. Evaluation and monitoring mechanism (like control chart for controlling purposes, Process audit, Surveillance) of results after implementation of the solutions
  24. Institutionalization and integration of the solutions
